In accordance with the revised Medical Service Act, we publish the rights and duties of patients.

Patient Rights

1. Right to Medical Care

Patients have the right to receive appropriate healthcare services for health protection and improvement. This right cannot be denied based on gender, age, religion, social status, or economic circumstances. Medical professionals cannot refuse treatment without justification.

2. Right to Information and Self-Determination

Patients may receive sufficient explanation from doctors and nurses regarding their condition, treatment methods, potential outcomes, side effects, and costs. They have the authority to decide whether to consent to proposed treatments.

3. Right to Privacy Protection

Patients are entitled to protection of personal and health-related secrets connected to their medical care. Healthcare providers cannot disclose confidential information except with patient consent or as legally required.

4. Right to Consultation and Mediation

In cases of healthcare disputes, patients may request consultation and mediation through organizations like the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency.

Patient Duties

1. Obligation to Trust and Respect Medical Professionals

Patients must communicate health information accurately and trust and respect the treatment plan established by their healthcare provider.

2. Obligation to Avoid Fraudulent Medical Care

Patients must disclose their identity before treatment and cannot seek care fraudulently or under another person's name.
