Aftercare Instructions/Laser

Aftercare: Redness & Vascular Laser

Laser

  1. Redness may last 3–4 hours and mild swelling 1–2 days. Occasionally these last 1–2 weeks, and some bruising is possible.
  2. If your skin has become thin from heavy steroid cream use, or the pigmentation is very dark, small blisters or scabs can form in places. If it's only scabbing, you can gently wash your face and wear makeup — just don't rub, so the scabs aren't removed too early.
  3. As the redness fades, existing freckles, melasma, or dark spots may look more noticeable. This is not a side effect — the pigment simply stands out more once the background redness is gone.
  4. Avoid strong sunlight after treatment. Keep using a broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA protection included) both before and after each session.
  5. Washing your face, a light shower, and light makeup are all fine. For about a week, avoid hot baths, sweaty exercise, and facial massage. Throughout your course of treatment, it's best to stay away from public baths and saunas.
  6. Very hot or cold weather, hot and spicy food, hot baths and saunas, alcohol, and strong stress or emotional swings can all worsen flushing — avoid them where you can.
  7. The ideal interval between sessions is 10–14 days.
